All’s Well is the debut EP from Philly indie rock singer songwriter, Maria Mirenzi. This is her first release as a solo artist, but it is far from her first time creating her own music. When Maria was a kid, she played in the band, wrote songs and poetry for friends and listened to early ‘00s and ‘10s indie rock on mixed tapes and CDs. She even went to music school. But fully admitting that she was a songwriter and artist at heart didn't happen until much later. It took about 20 years for her to find her way — ruminating, cultivating and experimenting with her sound. Now she is finally ready to share it with you.
The 6-song EP, All’s Well, was written and recorded between 2019 and 2025, which was a time not without its challenges. Maria navigated a band break-up, a pandemic, apartment hunting and career changes all while figuring out her new sound as a solo artist – honing her skills on electric guitar and writing constantly. Through it all emerged an evocative and arresting voice and a vulnerable songwriting style that tells you a story. With a trained background in jazz and classical music, Maria combines her rich harmonic vocabulary with her love of rock, pop and folk music and is influenced by indie artists like Madison Cunningham, Jesca Hoop, Andy Shauf and Hayley Williams.
The first single from the EP, “Suburban Nightmare”, touches upon what it means to get more comfortable as we age. Should we resist the urge to relax or always stay on edge for the sake of appearances? “Let It Steep” is her heartbreaker about the steeping indecision of leaving someone you once loved. “Lois Lorraine” is her social anxiety following her to every party in her 20s and “All’s Well” is her hard outer shell telling people that everything is okay, when beneath it all, she is screaming. With each song, the listener enters a new cathartic soundscape – weaving guitars, reverberant wormholes and Maria’s soothing yet growling vocals. All’s Well stops you in your tracks, forcing you to reckon with yourself.
These songs took their time to become fully realized, and there are many people who helped get them there. The EP was produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Grammy Award winning engineer Matt Poirier and features musicians Sean Markey and Max Kulicke on guitars, Lew D’Avanzo on bass, and Adam Shumski, Shane Luckenbaugh, Austin Wagner and Jason Treuting (So Percussion) on drums. Maria is responsible for the vocals, guitars, synths, piano, clarinet, saxophone, co-production and songwriting.
“I hope people listen to these songs and can release something within themselves, the way I get to release something by writing and performing them. The dream is that people can relate to my music, to me and to one another. We need to have more shared experiences that create empathy, like listening to music together, especially while living in a world that’s being dampened by social media, technology and all the other modern horrors.”
